Events in November 2026

Pleased to announce two further talks about the 2/5h Sherwood Foresters this November.

The first will be at Chesterfield Library, Thursday 5 November 10-11.00 am, and will cover the full story of the battalion from 1939-46.  The library is on New Beetwell Street, S40 1QN, close to the market place, and the event is free – no prior booking necessary.

On Saturday 21 November I will be talking to the local branch of the National Trust Association in Wimbledon where I live.  This will presentation will focus on the events of the first year of the battalions existence, how the battalion was raised and trained, and its experiences in France culminating in its evacuation from Dunkirk in June 1940  The event is in Christchurch Hall, Cottenham Park Road, SW20, at 3.30pm, and there is a small charge (£4 for members, $4.50 for non-members).
